Best of Comic-Con

I know there are alot of people out there that did not attend Comic-Con, well I am also so one of those people. Though I did not go to Comic-Con, I did watch some of the panels and I did see some of the trailers, so here are some of the best things that happen at Comic-Con.

Tron Legacy Trailer!!!!

Now I will start by saying I have not seen the original Tron movie, but I can say that after seeing the new Tron legacy trailer I am very excited for this movie. The thing that really gets me about the trailer is not the special effects (even though they are beautiful), it is the music by Daft Punk. the music is epic and really gets you into the trailer. If you haven't seen the trailer hear it is for you to see...

Comics Comics Comics!!!

I don't know if anyone else knows, but there are still comics at comic-con. One of the big things that came out of comic con related to comics is that Amazing Spider-Man will be ending Brand New Day. I'll stop for a sec for everyone to cheer........okay. Now instead of Amazing spider-Man being printed Three times a month, instead it will only be coming out two times a month. After the current story arc is over there will be a new story arc called "Origin of the Species". To read more about the changes with spidey, and to see some pictures and some of Spider-Mans new costumes, go to this link below:

Animation

With the Avengers movie coming out, Marvel introduced their new show called "Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes" the show is planned to air on Disney XD in 2011, but before the show airs they will air a 20 part series that will explain each character of the team. the team will include all of the original members of the Avengers (Iron Man, Captain America, Thor, Ant-Man/Giant-Man, and The Wasp). Also DC talked about their new animated series "Young Justice" which I can say I am very excited for. The team up consist of Robin, Superboy, Aqualad, Kid Flash, Miss Martain, and Artemis, but the producers of the show said the team will expand. Also they said some people will die.

Avengers Assemble!!!!!

And last but not least the Avengers. How could I not talk about Comic-Con and not talk about the Marvel Studios Panel. I can't say much about the Captain America panel because I wasn't able to see the whole thing, but I heard that they had a little clip of the movie and they showed Captain America's costume. Now i did see most of the Thor panel and it was pretty good. They spoke with the director of the movie Kenneth Branagh, also Thor himself Chris Hemsworth and the rest of the cast. but the most exciting the about the panel was the FIVE MINUTE trailer they showed. The same trailer that everyone has been liking for for the past two days. I saw some footage from it and it looked great, heard all of it and it still seems great. At first i thought this movie was going to be bad, but I might just change my mind about that. Then before the panel ended, President of Production, Kevin Feige said, "There is one more thing". At that moment the lights went down and they showed the Avengers teaser trailer. when the lights came back on Samuel L. Jackson came to the podium and began by introducing Clark Gregg, Scarlett Johansson, Chris Evans, Chirs Hemsworth, and Robert Downey Jr. Robert then went by introducing Jeremy Renner ,who will play Hawkeye, and then demanded a warm welcome to Mark Ruffalo who will be replacing Edward Norton as Bruce Banner/ The Hulk.

Overall Comic-Con was great this year. I wish the only things that were at comic-con, were only things that have something to do with comics. There is no need for games like Gears of War or God of War to be at an event like Comic-Con.

Stores that I recommend

This goes out to people who live in Boston, and are interested in getting into comics. On Wednesday I decided to go get some comics because I want to start reading them more. The first store I went to was JP comics and games it is in Jamaica Plain and it is a small little store that sells comics and board games the thing that i enjoyed about he store is that they are very helpful. I told the guy that I was just starting to get into comics and he was very helpful and nice, and I would totally recommend it to anyone who is starting to get into comics. The next store i recommend is Comicopia. This is a more popular comic book store in Boston. It is located by Kenmore Station, I'm not going to give the directions to the place, but it is around Kenmore Station. Just like JP comic and games it is a small store, and they sell comics, manga, and many others things that comic book people would love. When I went to store I only planed to get maybe one or two comics I came out of the store getting maybe 14 comics, and thats all because the women who helped recommend all of these different comics to me, even comics that I thought I would hate (Alias). Most of the comics were left overs from free comic book day which was great. Both of these stores are great, I'm not going to sit here and say one is the better, but if you are trying to get into comics or are just looking for a place to buy comics, go to these places and you will be very happy

My Favorite Cartoon Shows

I am 18 years old and I will totally admit that I still watch cartoons. I love them, and not to sound like an old man, but back in the day the cartoons were much better than they are now. Growing up I watched Pokemon and Yu-Gi-Oh, but I;m not talking but those cartoons. I'm talking about Batman the animated series, or Batman Beyond, or Justice League (some say that this is the best superhero cartoon show ever). My favorite animated shows growing up were Spirder-Man the animated series, Batman Beyond, X-Men Evolution, and Dragon Ball Z. I don't include Justice League becasue at the time I didn't have cable so i was unable to watch the show

Spider-Man was THE show that got me into comics it was great i was also the first show that I could remember that had crossovers with characters from other shows (there was an episode with the X-Men and one with Captain America and Iron Man)

Batman Beyond was also so a great show. It was a new take on Batman where Bruce Wayne is old and a high schooler named Terry McGinnis. The much darker than Batman the animated series and was a show for young adults than children. The other thing I like about the show was that they had characters that were in BTAS in the show (Mr.Freeze).

X-Men Evolution is a show that i really enjoyed I would watch it on Saturdays and pretend I was Quicksilver running circles around everyone. the only this show was missing, and this was something that I hate in alot of X-Men shows, is Wolverine taking out his claws and actually stabbing Sabertooth in the face. Other than that the show was great and it had all of these story arcs that most of the fans care about.

Finally Dragon Ball Z, I mean what can say anyone who is my age remembers Goku and his Kamehameha wave, or when Gohan turn into in ape, or the first time we all saw Goku turn into a Super Sayain. There are so many things I remember that about this show I loved it. It is maybe the only show where I can remember everything that happen in the shows history.

I AM IRON MAAAAAAAN (I wish)

First I would like to say no matter what I say everyone who reads this is going to see Iron Man 2 no matter what I say. Whether I say that it is worse than Daredevil and Elektra, you will be in line paying to see it in IMAX, watching it and popping that buttery popcorn in your mouth. But, my friends I am glad to say that Iron Man 2 is a good movie. People are debating wether it is better than the first one, and in my opinion I think it is better. This time around Tony Stark is living life and with the public knowing that he is Iron Man, the government is trying to take Tony suits to use it as a weapon. At the same time Tony is battling a drinking addiction, and he meets a Russian named Ivan Vanko ( people who read comics now him as Backlash or Whiplash) and Justin Hammer, who is the director of Hammer industries, and both of them are working together to take down Tony Stark. One thing I can about this movie that is just like the first one is the acting. The acting in the iron man 2 is just as good as the first one. Downey is great as Tony Stark, Sam Rockwell plays great as Justin Hammer, and Mickey Rourke is FANTASTIC as Ivan Vanko. Also the action in this movie was way better than the action in the first one. In the first Iron Man there were three big action scenes, and that is the same for the sequal, but the action scenes in the sequal blows all of the scenes in the first one out of the water.

Now though I think this movie is really good there are some negatives, first being that they have added in a few characters, and though everyone does a good job at their role, they are not in the movie alot. Sam Jackson was only in the movie for maybe 5-10 minutes and thats it. Mickey Rourke wasn't even in it alot and he was a main character. Another thing was that sometimes in the movie there would be scenes where two characters would be talking at the sometime, and you can't hear what anyone is saying. I saw it twice and the second time I watched the movie i tried my best to try and make somthing out of what they were saying, but i gave up. Still I think this was a fun movie i enjoyed it from beginning to end, you don't need me to say this go see this movie.
